While traveling to a nine-day Lenten retreat to recover from his harrowing experience on Zakon-4, Henry discovers a male prostitute stowaway on his private ship. Stuck together in deep space for three days, Henry and his uninvited guest, Piper, have a lot of mutual prejudices to unpack to keep their journey from spiraling into a purgatorial trial.

When a shipping problem forces Henry to visit Port Songroi during Fleet Week, he runs into an acquaintance who wants to desert the Interstellar One merchant spaceship, Soaring Raptor, where he works as a contracted comfort officer. Unfortunately, fleeing the planet with a registered prostitute is punishable with a hefty fine and three years in prison--so Henry and his friend better not get caught.

When an unflattering and incriminating tabloid article exposes Trevalu Intergalactic Spice Company's head of supply chain ethics as a runaway comfort officer, Henry finds himself investigated by two agents from the Interstellar Investigation Commission. If found guilty of aiding, abetting, harboring, and hiring a man guilty of desertion, he could be punished with a three-year prison sentence at Port Songroi Jail while his friend is forcibly returned to the Soaring Raptor to fulfill the remainder of his sexually exploitive contract.
